The Frequency Ratio Rule
Isolation only starts when the equipment's disturbing frequency is higher than √2 times the isolator's natural frequency.

For effective isolation we target a ratio of 3 or more. Example: a pump at 1,480 RPM (≈24.7 Hz) paired with a 4 Hz spring mount gives a ratio above 6 — well into the high-efficiency zone.

How do I choose between spring, rubber and pneumatic vibration isolators?
Start with the disturbing frequency of your equipment. Isolation only begins when the disturbing frequency is more than 1.41 times the isolator's natural frequency, and a ratio of 3 or higher is recommended. Rubber mounts suit higher-speed, lighter equipment; spring isolators with a natural frequency of 3–5 Hz suit chillers, pumps, fans and generators; pneumatic air mounts reaching 1.7 Hz suit precision instruments and semiconductor tools.
What information is needed to size a vibration isolator?
Provide the equipment operating weight, center of gravity position, number and layout of support points, operating speed (RPM) or excitation frequency, installation type (floor-mounted or suspended), environment (indoor, outdoor, corrosive) and any seismic or wind restraint requirements. Bellking engineers return a vibration isolation plan within 24 hours.
How long do Bellking vibration isolators last?
Under normal operating conditions, Bellking spring and transformer isolators perform efficiently for more than 15 years, and pneumatic air-mount isolators for more than 6 years. Steel parts use a Dacromet coating that passes 900-hour salt spray testing.
